Our experienced and friendly team

Rikki Chauhan
Centre Manager
Rikki joined Xtra Skills as Centre Manager following its acquisition by Logic4training. He brings many years of gas industry experience, having worked on the tools as well as assessing and teaching, which gives him a practical understanding of what engineers need from their training and what employers expect from a training provider. Rikki is building on the centre's established reputation while leading its next stage of growth as part of the Logic4training group.

Louise Mosey
Administration Manager
Louise has worked at Xtra Skills for over two years now and is our Administration Manager. She oversees day-to-day operations, with a strong focus on maintaining high standards and keeping up to date with changes in industry regulations. She supports a wide range of responsibilities, including administrative tasks, bookings, bookkeeping, and assessment invigilation.
History
Xtra Skills began in October 2000 as Icon Training and Assessment, founded by Paul Withey and two partners to provide cost-effective domestic gas training and assessment for the Midlands. Commercial, catering and LPG gas training followed around 2002, with OFTEC oil training added soon after.
In 2005 Paul took over the business as sole trader and renamed it Xtra Skills Centre. It was incorporated in 2006 as Xtra Skills (Coventry) Ltd and has since expanded into new sectors, working with many ‘Blue Chip’ companies across the UK.
Part of the Logic4training group
On 1 September 2026, Xtra Skills was acquired by Logic4training (Gas Logic Ltd), who have known Paul as a respected colleague and friend for more than 17 years. When Paul decided to retire, he chose to pass the centre on to people who share his values and will look after it as he did. The Coventry centre continues under Logic4training, who look to nurture Xtra Skills’ development.
What this means for our learners and customers
- Business as usual in Coventry. Training and assessment continue from our Napier Street centre, with the same standards and personal service.
- Nothing to change. Existing bookings stand, and course and assessment enquiries still come to Xtra Skills by phone, email or our contact page.
- The strength of a wider group. Learners benefit from the combined experience, resources and progression opportunities of two established training providers.
- More courses over time. We plan to broaden the training available in the Midlands, carefully and only where it adds real value for local engineers, employers and learners. We will keep customers informed as plans develop.
Adding Xtra Skills to our portfolio is an exciting next step for Logic4training, broadening our reach beyond the South East. Paul has developed an excellent centre, delivering high-quality training and we intend to continue his good work, while looking to expand the courses on offer in the future.
